The ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring in Management provides practising Managers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as Coaches or Mentors as part of their normal work role.
The programme is made of three mandatory units which enable participants to understand, develop and demonstrate knowledge and skills in workplace coaching and mentoring.

Understanding how Management Coaching and Mentoring can benefit Individuals and Organisations - The characteristics of effective Coaches and Mentors are explored. Here participants then go on to consider and present the business case for using Coaching or Mentoring in their organisation.

Reviewing own ability as a Management Coaching or Mentoring in the Workplace - Participants review their own ability as a Management Coach or Mentor, exploring their ethical and moral views as well as the core communication skills.

Undertaking Management Coaching or Mentoring in the workplace - Participants plan and deliver a short coaching or mentoring programme in line with their organisational, divisional or team goals.
What is the format and how long will it take?
The programme requires 45 hours of Guided Learning Time. Completion is typcially over a six to eight month timeframe. There is one route of study available.

Classroom Based Programme - A blended learning approach including 5 Classroom Days (1+2+2), distance learning activities, one-to-one coaching, observed coaching, assessment teleseminar. All supported by your own dedicated Coach-Mentor.
Currently this programme is available In-house for a minimum of 6 delegates or as an Open Access Programme.
