Our EMCC EQA Foundation Certificate in Mentoring programme will support you to develop the knowledge, skills, behaviours and confidence in adopting a mentoring approach as part of your role.
Our programme is accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). EMCC are a professional membership organisation which encourages excellence and progression for mentors, coaches and supervisors.
They have developed a rigorous research based Competence Framework to identify the core competences of a professional Coach and Mentor. The EMCC Competence Framework is widely recognised, regarded and endorsed within the coaching and mentoring communities.
It is the gold standard for coaching and mentoring, intended for individuals, as well as coaching and mentoring development programmes.
By the end of our programme you will receive the EMCC EQA Foundation Certificate in Mentoring. Participants wishing to study further can use the award as a fast track towards achieving their European Individual Accreditation (EIA) at Foundation level, subject to meeting the additional criteria required.
What do participants learn?
The programme will introduce you to the background and the key fields that have influenced the growth and practice of mentoring today.
On completion of this programme you will be able to:
- Understand what mentoring is and isn’t
- Understand and develop core mentoring competencies at Foundation Level
- Apply core mentoring skills and models within a mentoring relationship
- Understood the boundaries of a mentoring relationship and how to contract effectively
- Develop the skills of a Reflective Practitioner in order to identify areas for personal development in mentoring, and plan for new learning
