AIM OF THE WORKSHOP
To provide leaders with a thorough understanding of coaching principles and their workplace application.
It begins by defining the leadership landscape and challenges and goes onto explore how coaching can provide an approach which helps leaders maximise engagement from others and supports them reaching their potential.
It defines coaching and highlights when to use a coaching approach and when not to. The main part of the day focuses on developing the skills required to be an effective coach and understanding when and how to use this approach.
Upon completion delegates will be able to:
- Understand the context of leadership and current challenges
- Identify why a coaching approach is important as a leadership tool for maximising the potential of others
- Understand coaching principles and values and how they support engagement
- Recognise suitable coaching contexts
- Develop rapport and trust
- Proficiently use active listening and impactful questioning
- Identify workplace coaching prospects and address challenges
What can you expect on the day?
This workshop will be a highly interactive workshop delivered by an experienced facilitator who is also a coach mentor. They will be able to draw from their own experience not only as a coach mentor but as a leader within their own context.
During the session you will be explore:
- Leadership principles in the context of coaching
- Coaching Fundamentals
- Framing the Coaching Conversation
In addition you will be given the opportunity to practice with your fellow delegates, debrief and gain feedback on your practice to identify strengths and areas for development.
