Are you a First Line Manager, Supervisor or Team Leader looking to:
- take your first step towards developing your skills in Coaching or
- do you simply want to formalise your experience with an accredited qualification
Perhaps you:
- sometimes feel overwhelmed when your team members come to you with problems not solutions
- become frustrated when you see talented individuals not performing to their full potential
- are looking for more powerful ways to manage and motivate your team
As a Manager you can often find yourself ‘between a rock and a hard place’. You want to support your team members to achieve great things and fulfil their own potential but you are also under pressure to ‘get the job done’. What can you do to find out what motivates your team members? How can you find out what and holds them back? How can you support them in thinking more creatively and finding their own solutions?
By developing the core skills of Coaching you will be able to support your team more effectively by getting to the heart of things quickly, creating solid relationships and supporting their growth and development.
Both the ILM Level 3 Award and Certificate in Coaching are experiential programmes where you will learn practical skills that will make a real difference. We will not ‘spout’ management theory that you are left to apply in the workplace, instead we will support you with practical hints, tips and approaches that will help you get the best from your people.
Delegates on either of these programmes come from all sectors and backgrounds.
Each programme is made up of three mandatory units which enable participants to develop the tools, knowledge and confidence to coach people as part of their normal working role.
The Award requires participants to complete Units 300, 301 and 303. The Certificate requires participants to complete Units 300, 302 and 303.
- Unit 300 – Understanding good practice in workplace coaching – Covers the role of coaching, basic coaching processes and the abilities and qualities individuals need to be a good coach.
- Unit 301 – Undertaking coaching in the workplace – Enables participants to plan and carry out at least six hours of coaching with supervision and support.
- Unit 302 – Undertaking an extended period of coaching in the workplace – Enables participants to plan and carry out 12 hours of coaching for a deeper level of skills and experience with supervision and support.
- Unit 303 – Reflecting on workplace coaching skills – Provides participants with the tools to analyse and improve their own performance as a coach.
