Entry Requirements There are no formal entry requirements. However, the course is aimed at middle managers or HR/OD professionals who are coaching or mentoring as part of their role.
Assessment •    Written based assignment
•    Coaching diary demonstrating 18 hours & reflection on practice
•    Personal reflection reviewing own ability as a coach/mentor
Duration 12 months
Classroom Day Timings: 9.30am-4.30pm

Who are the qualifications for:-

The Certificate and Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring are for managers and those with significant responsibility for effective coaching and mentoring as part of their daily role within an organisational context.

They are also ideal for individuals who wish to move into a development role or start a career as a freelance coach or mentor.

Aim of the programme

To provide learners with the required knowledge, skills and understanding in order to effectively coach or mentor others within an organisational context.

Programme Support

Our qualifications adopt a blended learning approach that includes a range of activities which include:-

  • 45Days of taught input Classroom Training (2+1+2) -we also offer this programme as a LIVE Interactive Virtual option!
  • 3 x one to one Telephone Coaching Sessions with your dedicated Coach-Mentor-Supervisor
  • Coaching Supervision/Observed Coaching.
  • Assessment Support – providing guidance on how to complete the assessed work
  • Distance Learning Activities – Workbook and Guided Reading (A Core text is supplied to support these activities).
  • Free 1 year  ILM Membership where you can access latest thinking and resources.

Throughout the programme, you will be fully supported by an accredited Coach-Mentor providing you with all the support and guidance you will need to gain your qualification.

Progression

EMCC Recognition at Practitioner Level

A dual accreditation, from both the ILM and the EMCC, is also available to participants of this programme by completing an extended period of practice in addition to the three mandatory ILM units.  This will lead to the EMCC European Quality Award Certification at Practitioner Level as well as the ILM Level 5 Certificate.

ILM Level 5 Diploma for Professional Management Coaches and Mentors

Participants can access the Diploma directly by completing the same units as the Certificate. The only changes would be in the third unit which requires learners to demonstrate their ability to plan, deliver and review at least 54 hours of coaching and mentoring instead of 18 hours. There will also be an added focus on using supervision and reflective review to develop individual practice.

ILM Level 7 Certificate or Diploma in Executive Coaching and Mentoring.
